Are we really the friends that our friend really looking forward?

Today I kind of realize something. It is about a few people around me. Whom I called them by name and consider them as my friends. Surely, something has change. It is a good change though, but I just don’t seem to be able to adjust myself in this changing current. I just can’t afford to change. I’d rather run away from this.
And then I think about horrible things they had put me through, but then I think to myself, am I already trying to be their friends? Like this saying “your friend is yourself in different form”. That everything you wanted people to do to you, you have to do them first. If you want people to love you, you have to love them first. But sometimes, it’s not that simple. It takes effort and patient, sometimes you’ll need to sacrifice your heart to them. And it’s all worth every cost in the end.
The big question is “are you willing to give your heart, your life to your friend? So that they can always rely on you, count you in? “
A yes may be is your answer.
Back to the basic question, why do we need out friends? We are born alone in this world. And some day we will die alone. That friend is like our belonging, it’s something like money. Something that you gain in this world and you can’t assure yourself that they will be the same after you die.
